Mr. Kittle has asserted that UCAN is a "special interest group" here and elsewhere. This is a statement crafted by SDG&E's public relations department.

As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, UCAN is limited in its ability to lobby politicians. Our sole purpose and function is to protect and educate San Diego consumers. The people we represent are San Diego Gas and Electric ratepayers, and the customers of any phone company conducting business in San Diego County.

In other words, we represent the interests of every consumer in San Diego County, including YOU.
