Fraud Squad Helps Praudigy Hearing Clinic Senior Get $3800 Refund
A few days ago, Frank, a 92-year old, long-time UCAN member contacted the Fraud Squad for our help getting a promised $3800 refund for hearing aids he returned five months earlier to Praudigy Hearing Clinics. Praudigy was a contracted vendor that had been doing business out of local CVS Pharmacies.
Frank had asked for, and been promised, the refund several times by Praudigy, which revealed to UCAN that it was having financial difficulties, and could not provide the refund.
UCAN contacted CVS for help and they stepped in right away. The CVS corporate office contacted Praudigy, and Frank had his full $3800 refund a couple of days later. Not only did CVS help this 92-year old senior, but called UCAN with the promise of sending letters or postcards to all Praudigy customers to accommodate their needs and/or to make them whole.
Thank you CVS for standing up for its consumers.

free hearing test
My mother who is almost 90 got a flyer in the mail offering a free hearing test from California Hearing Aid Center she went in had her free hearing test at a hotel room and was told she needed aids for both ears. She was talked into spending $3000.00 dollars for 2 hearing aids, she only gets a little over $900.00 a month. I stopped payment on the $200.00 check she gave them, but how do I get her out of the contract she signed. I wasn't there so I don't know how they talked her into this since she is really tight with money. Thanks for any help you can give me
hearing aid contract
in a HOTEL room???? are you kidding me? wow.... that is sad and i'm sorry she is going through that, but just don't forget there are great audiologist out there who treat people good and fair!
In California, there has to be a minimum of 30 days of trial period, she just needs to go there (you can go w/ her) and have them put a stop on the deal. Have them write that out on the contract itself that it's canceled & have them sign it too. If they don't, then tell them you will contact the Hearing Aid Dispenser's Bureau!
Good Luck!
Praudigy Hearing Centers
Praudigy was owned and started by Weston Harris in Utah. His company, Harris Hearing recently closed their doors and I hear that they filed bankruptcy. It sounds like CVS has canceled their contract with Mr. Harris. They obviously made a very poor choice when agreeing to do business with Mr. Harris. He has numerous complaints with the Utah Attorney General's office. He was recently on the news in Utah for not giving a refund and made the comment that it "got lost in the shuffle". Sounds like a common excuse by this guy. I have many friends who have been ripped off by this guy. He is a crook. How does he sleep at night. He drives his fancy cars and lives in a nice house and from what I hear he moved all his money offshore to hide it. He also owns Sportear. Beware of buying any products through any of this crooks companies.
Praudigy hearing clinic did NOT return our refund
Praudigy hearing clinic at the CVS Pharmacy in Diamond Bar, Ca. did not return our refund. It's going on 5 months now. Several months ago, they told us its in process. Now, its impossible to get a hold of them and they're not returning our calls. Our salesman (Javier Guzman) tells us he's been fired because we complained so much. We have no one to talk to about this. Im in a wheelchair and my wife is hard of hearing. Praudigy played all nice to us only to rip us off.
