its our needs we cant escape from it

Needs.

I think fuel is the demand of today and we can't survive without these things because they are our needs.

If we stopped buying gas-guzzlers and demanded ultraefficient vehicles, Detroit would make them. But instead, we hunger for performance and living room comfort. That packs on the pounds, making autos less efficient.

The '70s and '80s were a great time for gas mileage. Because of that whole oil-crisis thing, average fuel economy actually rose from 1975 to 1987. Since then, it's been falling. Today, fuel efficiency is 8 percent lower than it was in 1987. What happened?

WHY GAS COSTS SO MUCH - IT ISN'T WHAT YOU THINK

I came across a discussion on C-Span last night with Michael Greenberger taking callers' questions. He was the former director of the U. S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Google him for an impressive resume.) I found an article on the Internet that summarizes what he said. He stated that 60% of the increase in gas prices can be attributed to UNREGULATED futures trading. It is unregulated because President Bush exempted it from regulation in 2006. Reminds me of Enron and California's unregulated electricity cost spike.

For an informative and not too long article on gasoline prices see....

I urge UCAN to publicize the information and explanation found in this article. Mr. Greenberger is to appear before a U. S. Senate hearing next week concerning this unregulated (thanks to George Bush) futures trading.

Re: Website to help decrease gas consumption, www.brightgreen.us

Here is a cool website to add a fuel heater called Max Warmer and Fog Inducer to make your fuel burn like propane. Check this out!!!! Also discusses fuel, fuel additives in great detail along with oxygen sensors and spark plug wires and plugs. The website is http://www.brightgreen.us (Note it is not http://www.brightreen.com).
http://www.brightgreen.us/smartgas/ultra5.htm is a website with various gas mileage increasing tips.

tail gates and MPG?

Hi,
I just received and read the Guzzler Buster booklet today. I have 2 questions that were not covered in it. 1. What is the verdict on tail gates up or down for better MPG? 2. My Titan has rear window that can go down fully. Does my MPG get better gas milage without the A/C on with some windows open and my back window down? Seems to blow the air out as I drive. Thanks

keep tailgate up for better MPG

1) Theoretically, you'll save gas with the tailgate up, and the odds of getting a ding in your truck are lowered. Tests done show that the air in the tailgate creates a bubble that the outer air passes over when traveling at 55+ MPH. hard to believe, but true. See http://hubpages.com/hub/Gas_Saving_Tips, ... although as any chaos theorist will tell you, predicting wind turbulence is almost impossible - it is inherently chaotic at different speeds.

2) Keep the rear window closed and use the A/C. The improved aerodynamics will offset the 30 or so horses you lose from the air conditioning.

Thanks for writing,

Fuel economy and emissions reduction

The cleaner your oil is, the better your engine will run, and the longer it will last. Fluid preventative maintenance is the key to optimizing engine and drive-train efficience (increasing fuel economy) and reducing mechanical wear and toxic tailpipe emissions.

Fluid testing & analysis by Fluid Rx Instant Lubricant Diagnostics based here in San Diego provides consumers with a simple proof positive means of monitoring all vehicle fluids. Their Magna-Guard Oil Filter Magnet greatly improves filter performance reducing engine wear 8 to 14 times; coupled with their Fuel Energizer Rx micro-chip improves engine eficiency by 5% or more, in some cases much more.

We would be please to share our documentation of the benefits of these simple inexpensive universal comsumer products that can reduce our Nation's dependency on foreign oil by no less than 5% and reduce Co2 emissions by more than 20%.
